Autumn Blaze at the Continental Airlines Arena
Panavid provided sound and lighting for
one of the largest youth events in the N.Y. metro area, in
October at Continental Airlines Arena in Rutherford N.J. In
the past, Autumn Blaze was held at the Zarephath, New Jersey
campus of Pillar of Fire Ministry for seven years. Recent
years had seen over 7,000 attend the festival, causing the
change of venue. The event includes nationally known Christian
bands and speakers.
This year the Arena housed Kurios, Tait, Toby Mac, and testifying
rockers, Jars of Clay, with nationally known speaker Ron Hutchcraft
from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. while Crownd, PURE, Runaway, Kronicles
and Evangel Church's praise and worship band were featured
in the outdoor tailgate festival from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Attendance
topped past years with over 13,000 attending. The vision for
this event is that God would use Autumn Blaze to unite the
body of Christ in the tri-state area, which is becoming realized
each year as more attend and experience Christ's life-altering
change.
Casting Crowns
Star 99.1 FM radio showed appreciation
for their listeners by putting on a free concert featuring
Casting Crowns in October. The expected small crowd of 500-1000
turned into a full audience with reports ranging from 5000-7000
people actually attending. The old fields of Autumn Blaze
housed the event in Zarephath. The band was supposed to come
with their own monitors and microphones, but ended up sending
their equipment on to Chicago, where they were performing
that night. Panavid provided all the gear they needed to rock
the field! EAW KF750 speakers covered the crowd, fed by a
Midas XL200 FOH console. The monitor wedges were Tannoy V15’s,
and a Yamaha PM4000M provided the mix. The audience turnout,
along with Casting Crowns' awesome show, proved that Star
99.1 not only appreciates its listeners, but also is appreciated
by listeners and bands alike.
Michael W. Smith
Panavid provided sound and lighting for
Michael W. Smith during an awesome show at Ocean Grove's Great
Auditorium in August. EAW KF730s filled the balconies on applied
lifts while the front of the auditorium was covered by KF750s,
755s, and SB1000s. A Yamaha PM5D mixed the front of house,
and the monitors where mixed through a Midas Heritage 3000.
Michael W. Smith has recorded eighteen albums, written ten
books and received many awards, including 33 Dove and 3 Grammy
awards.
Battle of the Bands
Evangel church in Scotch Plains, NJ hosted
Battle of the Bands again this year in July. Panavid provided
EAWs and an InnovaSon console to mix Kurios, Far from Proud,
Identity, Fleece, Far and Fading, and Manifestin' 7 as they
battled it out to find who would be the last band standing.
The winning band would be moving on to perform at Autumn Blaze
with Jars of Clay, Tait, and tobyMac. The event included inflatables
and food, but the afternoon centered on the musical talent
and the fans who were there to support them. Kurios started
the show, and ended the night with a win. They have received
national recognition in a variety of venues and have shared
the stage with one of last year's Autumn Blaze bands, Skillet,
along with others such as Pax 217, Relient K, Jeremy Camp,
and Sanctus Real. Kurios' music encompasses an edgy, melody
driven rock sound. They display many elements found in some
of their favorite bands, yet manage to produce a sound truly
their own.
Audio Adrenaline
Panavid was hired by Renaissance Communications
in conjunction with Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association to
provide sound for Audio Adrenaline and their opening act,
Falling Up, in July. Using our EAW KF series cabinets and
Midas FOH console, Audio Adrenaline and Falling Up entertained
the crowd in Ocean Grove's Great Auditorium with an unforgettable
performance. With a total of seven studio albums to their
credit, Audio Adrenaline is approaching sales of more than
3 million units and has earned 4 Grammy Award nominations
and multiple Dove Awards. Falling Up opened for Audio A, putting
on a stellar performance including back flips off of the guitarist's
amp. Falling up combines the intensity of modern rock with
all the emotion involved in traditional praise and worship.
